The Design Science Lab is an intensive program in which the tools of design science are used by diverse groups to develop creative solutions to global and local problems as well as strategies for implementing them. The Design Science Lab is presented by the Buckminster Fuller Institute and BigPictureSmallWorld. The program is produced by The Buckminster Fuller Institute, directed by Medard Gabel, Design Science Lab Facilitator, and hosted in collaboration with Wayne Jacoby of Global Education Motivators.
The Design Science Lab was inspired by Buckminster Fuller's premise of a "design science decade," — a vision for changing the world in which leading students, architects, designers, scientists, and concerned citizens collaboratively apply themselves to solving critical global problems in a 10 year timeframe using the design science method.
