
Founded in 1983, The Buckminster Fuller Institute serves a global network of design science innovators working at the leading edge to "make the world work for 100% of humanity in the shortest possible time through spontaneous cooperation without ecological offense or the disadvantage of anyone". BFI offers educational programs, publications, initiatives and tools to help further the design science revolution Fuller inspired. Our constituency crosses disciplinary boundaries and includes people working in the fields of the art, architecture, design, education, engineering, information technology, economics, mathematics, science, and systems theory.
BFI's Mission is to catalyze the effective application of the principles of science to the comprehensive design of our total environment in order to sustainably meet the needs of all humanity. BFI fulfills its Design Science mission by offering innovative educational programs and tools that provide the opportunity to:
- Acquire a comprehensive understanding of the status of our Spaceship Earth's life support systems
- Be inspired and informed by the pioneering legacy of Buckminster Fuller
- Connect with leading thinkers and designers who are developing and demonstrating whole system solutions to global and local problems
- Design and test solutions in the real world

BigPictureSmallWorld Inc. is dedicated to providing quality educational programs that inform, inspire and empower. It works with schools, colleges, and organizations around the world. Its mission is to turn information overload into sensible knowledge that leads to effective action. More specifically, it seeks to motivate and excite students and others about the wonders and challenges of the global predicament and how we can participate in shaping the world to match our values. BigPictureSmallWorld develops and uses web movies, curriculum materials, assemblies, teacher development, consulting, and books toward this purpose. It has developed web movies for the UNEP, museums, and other clients throughout the world. BigPictureSmallWorld has developed and delivered programs dealing with global awareness, the environment, world resources, human trends and needs and the Millennium Development Goals for high schools, colleges, governments and corporations.

Global Education Motivators (GEM) was founded in 1981 as a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization to help schools meet the complex challenges of living in a global society.
Emphasizing human rights and human responsibility, GEM is now educating a second generation to global awareness and responsibility in an interdependent world. GEM is a non-governmental-organization (NGO) in association with the United Nations Department of Public Information. GEM is headquartered at Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia, PA (USA).
